Family Camping in Sedona: Perfect Spot along Oak Creek

My birthday present from my family this year was a weekend in Sedona with friends.

After the long car trip, Max was eager to stretch his legs. This photo was taken at our campsite, it had a little path to the water.

My husband reserved two sites in March at Cave Springs Campground along Oak Creek.

Cave Springs has three loops with campsites. Reserve a site online to guarantee your spot.

Site 11A, Cave Springs Campground

I recommend 11A, our site (tent only). It was creekside and isolated compared to the other sites.

Easy family hikes in Sedona are Robbers Roost, Allen Bend Trail, Fay Canyon Arch or Doe Mountain (easiest to still easy but with switchbacks).

Read about hikes before you select as some charge a fee to park and their is no global pass. One last hike if you have older kids, Long Canyon trail (7 miles) seems like the best bet.

This popular campsite has a great little store with accessible hours (open at 7AM on Sunday? Love!). Look at the selection of marshmallows. Fun!

See you next year Oak Creek!! If you can’t find a spot at Cave Springs, try Pine Flat Campground.
